Dave Waltz was the son of Samuel Waltz (first son of Johann George Walz and Catharine Kiess). The first name of his wife is unknown, but since her mother's name was Mrs. Gottlieb Waltz seen below, her last name was likely also Waltz. Dave was a first cousin of Caroline Waltz who m. Frederick Foltz.

George Kiess and Barbara Mutschler
are pictured here with their children. The inscription on the back of the photo had only George Kiess and Barbara [who turns out to be B. Mutschler]. According to Kevin's website this George was the son of Abraham Kiess who m. Catharina Waltz (sister of William Waltz who m. Mary Hurr).
Abraham Kiess was the son of Christopher Kiess and grandson of John Wilhelm Kiess (brother of George Kiess who wrote the diary).
